Hi Everyone
Coral reefs are found in all the oceans that have parts in the tropics. These are the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean.
The Indo-Pacific Region
This includes much of the Central and South Pacific Ocean as far north as Hawaii and southern Japan and as far south as Taiwan and coastal regions of Southeast Asia, Philippines, northern New Zealand and most of Australia’s coast. Eastern regions include Indonesia, most of the Indian Ocean to the east coast of Africa and the Red Sea.
The Greater Caribbean Region
This includes the Caribbean Sea, Bahamas, south Florida, north-eastern coast of South America to the Amazon and Orinoco River.
Smaller areas of coral reefs occur in the eastern Pacific, tropical eastern Atlantic, off Western Australia, along the east coast of southern Brazil, off southern Japan and around the island of Bermuda in the western Atlantic.
Cheers Tania
